Beating Diabetes
A Preventive Health Screening Initiative by Okaasan Foundation
Introduction
Beating Diabetes is a pioneering preventive health screening initiative launched by the Okaasan Foundation to combat the rapidly growing diabetes epidemic through early detection, risk identification, and preventive intervention.
Diabetes is no longer a disease of old age. Increasingly, it affects younger populations due to sedentary lifestyles, unhealthy dietary habits, and rising obesity.
Our initiative focuses on identifying at-risk individuals before diabetes develops, allowing timely lifestyle modification and prevention.
Our belief is simple : Prevention is more powerful than cure.
The need :

Pakistan is among the top countries affected by diabetes, with millions living undiagnosed or at high risk.
Many people develop complications such as:
Heart disease
Kidney failure
Stroke
Vision loss
These complications can be significantly reduced or prevented through early screening and intervention.
Beating Diabetes addresses this gap by bringing preventive screening directly to communities, schools, and workplaces.
Our Objectives :
Early identification of individuals at risk of diabetes
Creating awareness about preventive health
Promoting lifestyle modification
Developing long-term health monitoring cohorts
Supporting organizations in protecting their workforce health
Our Screening Program
Our screening is designed using standardized preventive health protocols and includes:
Health Risk Assessment

Strengthening Society Through Women’s Empowerment
Empowering women is not just about uplifting individuals; it’s about building stronger, more inclusive communities. When women are given equal opportunities to thrive—through education, employment, and leadership roles—they become powerful drivers of positive change in society. Women empowerment enhances economic growth, promotes social equality, and fosters resilience within families and communities. By providing women with the tools, resources, and support they need to realize their full potential, we are shaping a future that values every individual’s contribution, creating a world where everyone can succeed. Together, we can create lasting impacts that go beyond individuals to uplift entire generations.
